About Parsha Table
Parsha Table is a free weekly guide to Shabbat and the parsha (the weekly Torah portion) for families who are just starting out: families who were never religious, or who are taking their first steps toward more Jewish life at home.
Every week there's the parsha in plain words, one Shabbat thing to try (with everything you need and the words in Hebrew, transliteration and English), a game that brings the kids in, and the story told four ways, one for each kind of kid at your table, each with its own song. Shabbat 101 covers the basics, one small step at a time.
We start from the very beginning and never assume background. Take what works for your home, at your own pace. We point to the best free material from across the Jewish world, we never speak for any rabbi or movement, and families from every background are welcome. For questions of Jewish law, ask a rabbi you trust.
The songs come from Elijah Tales: a new song on the parsha every week, in four voices.
Want to dedicate a week in memory of someone, or in honor of a simcha (a happy occasion)? Dedications open soon.
